Jonah and the Big Fish

Jonah 1-4

Jonah tries to run away from God, but God gives him a second chance.

Go to Nineveh!

God told Jonah, "Go to the city of Nineveh and tell the people to stop doing wrong." But Jonah did not want to go.

Running Away

Jonah got on a ship going the other way! He thought he could run away from God.

A Big Storm

God sent a huge storm! The sailors were scared. Jonah said, "It's my fault. Throw me into the sea, and the storm will stop." So they did, and the sea became calm.

Swallowed!

God sent a big fish to swallow Jonah! Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights. He prayed and said sorry to God.

A Second Chance

God told the fish to spit Jonah out onto dry land. Then God said again, "Go to Nineveh." This time, Jonah went!

God Is Kind

Jonah told the people of Nineveh about God. They were sorry and stopped doing wrong. And God forgave them, because God loves everyone.

“You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love.”
Jonah 4:2

God loves everyone, and he gives second chances. We can't hide from God!
