Daniel and the Lions

Daniel 6

Daniel keeps praying to God, even when it is against the law, and God shuts the lions' mouths.

Daniel Prays

Daniel lived far from home in the land of Babylon. Three times every day, he opened his window and prayed to God.

A Sneaky Plan

Some jealous men tricked King Darius into making a new law: "No one may pray to anyone except the king for 30 days!" Anyone who disobeyed would be thrown to the lions.

Daniel Keeps Praying

Daniel knew about the law, but he kept praying to God, just like always. The sneaky men saw him and told the king.

Into the Lions' Den

The king was very sad, because he liked Daniel. But he had to follow the law. Daniel was thrown into a den of hungry lions!

An Angel!

That night, God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths. The lions did not hurt Daniel at all!

Safe!

In the morning, the king ran to the den. "Daniel, did your God save you?" "Yes!" said Daniel. The king was so happy, and he told everyone to honor Daniel's God.

“My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions.”
Daniel 6:22

We can always talk to God, and he is always with us, even in scary places.
